Magnificent SESSA MARINE KL 34 IB with 2 x VOLVO PENTA V8-300 CE engines (600 HP / 448 KW)
The Italian manufacturer Sessa Marine offers a very varied range of boats, from the 5.75-meter open to the luxurious 21-meter yacht. It also has a wide range of sun decks called Key Largo, except for the One – the smallest of all – which is a classic open. In recent years, Sessa has released some of these models in inboard and outboard versions, like the Key Largo 34, which we had the opportunity to take the helm off the coast of the Varazze port in Italy, not far from the French border. Moored at the dock, this imposing 10-meter sun deck showcases beautiful curves.
This boat – like all other models in the range – was designed by the very famous designer Christian Grande. The Key Largo 34 features a very successful line that is both harmonious, fluid, and contemporary. The program of this impressive 10-meter sun deck is undeniably Mediterranean. The Key Largo 34 has two distinct living areas: the front and the cockpit. The immense forward sunbathing area is dedicated to lounging and enjoying long hours in the sun. It is accessible via two wide walkways secured by a railing.
Very friendly spaces
As for the cockpit, it is more reserved for meals and picnics with family or friends, thanks to the large L-shaped bench that allows many guests to sit around the beautiful teak table. This table can be folded in half to take up less space or lowered to form a second sunbathing area. As on most boats, the seating areas house spacious storage compartments. The thick leaning post accommodates the driver and co-pilot, and it features an outdoor kitchen equipped as standard with a sink, a cutting board, plenty of storage, and optional refrigerator and stove. While the relaxation spaces have been well thought out, the helm has received particular attention.
Comfort is excellent, the instrumentation enjoys optimal placements, the steering wheel is adjustable, and the throttle controls fall nicely under the hands while standing; however, when the driver is seated in the comfortable bucket seat, the steering wheel may feel a bit distant. The dedicated space for the GPS is ideally located, enhancing visibility. While the Key Largo 34 is a fantastic boat for day trips, it can also perfectly adapt to a cruising program thanks to a welcoming and warm interior that includes a U-shaped forward dinette convertible into a double berth, a very nice mid-cabin, and a separate toilet room. The interior decoration, very flattering and neat, is made of noble wood and light fabrics.
A rather rich standard equipment
The long hull panels, which offer stunning sea views from the forward cabin while providing abundant light, are also appreciated. The mid-cabin is equipped with two single berths that can be complemented by a central mattress to form a double bed. As for the toilet room, it features a sink, handheld shower, and electric marine toilet coupled with a black water tank.
