Magnificent SESSA MARINE KL 34 HB
The Italian manufacturer Sessa Marine offers a very diverse range with boats ranging from the 5.75-meter open to the luxurious 21-meter yacht. It also has a wide range of sun decks called Key Largo, with the exception of the One – the smallest of all – which is a classic open. For a few years now, Sessa has been offering some of these models in inboard and outboard versions, like the Key Largo 34 which we had the pleasure of taking command of off the coast of the port of Varazze in Italy, not far from the French border. Moored at the dock, this imposing sun deck measuring 10 meters in length reveals lovely curves.
This boat – like all other models in the range – was designed by the renowned designer Christian Grande. The Key Largo 34 displays a very successful line that is both harmonious, fluid, and contemporary. The program of this impressive 10-meter sun deck is undeniably Mediterranean. The Key Largo 34 has two distinct living areas: the front section and the cockpit. The immense forward sunbathing area is dedicated to relaxation and long sunbathing sessions. It is accessible via two wide walkways secured by a railing.
Very convivial spaces
As for the cockpit, it is more reserved for meals and picnics with family or friends, thanks to the large L-shaped bench that allows many guests to sit around the beautiful teak table. This table can be folded in half to take up less space or lowered to form a second sunbathing area. As on most boats, the seating areas house spacious storage lockers. The thick leaning post accommodates the driver and co-driver, and it features an outdoor kitchen that comes standard with a sink, cutting board, ample storage, and an optional refrigerator and stove. While the relaxation areas have been well thought out, the helm station has received special attention.
Comfort is excellent, the instrumentation benefits from well-chosen placements, the steering wheel is adjustable, and the throttle controls fall nicely underhand when standing; however, when the captain is seated in the comfortable bucket seat, the wheel will feel a bit far away. The space designated for the GPS is ideally located, making it easy to read. Although the Key Largo 34 is a fantastic boat for day outings, it can also perfectly adapt to a cruising program thanks to a welcoming and warm cabin that consists of a U-shaped forward lounge convertible into a double berth, a very nice mid-cabin, and a separate toilet compartment. The interior decoration, very flattering and neat, is made of noble wood and light fabrics.
A rather rich standard equipment
The long hull panels, which offer a breathtaking view of the sea from the forward cabin while providing a lot of light, are also appreciable. The mid-cabin is equipped with two single berths that can be complemented by a central mattress to form a double bed. As for the toilet compartment, it is equipped with a ceramic sink, shower with stainless steel fixtures, adjustable shower head, mixer tap, and curtain, mirror, opening porthole, oak Venetian blinds, LED lights, sockets, and bathroom accessories.
