The Wauquiez CENTURION 47 is a model designed by Ed Dubois and built by the Wauquiez shipyard. This sailboat is known for its performance, robustness, and elegance. It is suitable for offshore sailing, particularly close-hauled.
Preparation and Improvements
The sailboat has undergone a complete overhaul and major improvements between 2019 and 2024:
Recent work: replacement of the teak deck, changing of the portholes, refurbishment of the standing rigging, and complete engine revision.
Modern equipment: new Fisher Panda generator (2024) and upgrade of the NKE electronics.
Interior Layout
The sailboat features three cabins: a rear owner's cabin, a forward double cabin, and a crew cabin. It also includes a saloon, a fully equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms.
Equipment and Performance
The sailboat is equipped with a revised 60 HP Lombardini engine, a complete sail set (mainsail and genoa from 2017, staysail, storm jib, and spinnaker revised), and modern navigation instruments (NKE central, AIS, autopilot).
History
Formerly owned by artist Philippe Laville, this sailboat has sailed from the French coasts to the lagoons of New Caledonia, including New Zealand and Tahiti.
